Fall 2023

It's been a long time in the making, but we are so excited to announce the opening of the Tariffville - Bloomfield Multi-use Trail.  Celebrate with us on Friday, Nov. 17 at 11 AM. The ribbon cutting will be at the Tariffville trailhead at the intersection of Main Street and Route 189. This new 1-mile trail connects to an existing 1.7 mile multi-use trail in Bloomfield, ending at Day Hill Rd.  Following the ribbon cutting, walk or ride the new trail with the Simsbury Bicycle Pedestrian Advisory Committee and Simsbury.Bike. One way distances:
1 mile to the trail parking lot in Bloomfield across from Old St. Andrews Church and 2.5 miles to the Day Hill Rd. trailhead in Bloomfield. Join us!

What is Love to Ride?

Love To Ride is a free online platform for riders of all abilities to log bike trip information and encourage biking through online community connections, goal-setting,  and friendly competition using leaderboards and challenges.  Ride information may be entered manually or by syncing from  fitness apps Strava or Map My Ride. Riders set personal goals, participate in an online community, and may compete for prizes and awards offered by the Love to Ride platform.  Most prizes are awarded by random drawing.

Love to Ride hosts a number of challenges throughout the year including the Bike Month Challenge in May, Cycle September, Winter Wheelers and the National Bike Challenge (May to September).  Riders may join groups/clubs, ride with a Team or Workplace, or participate as a solo rider.

Past Success

Since 2015, Simsbury has logged over 650,000 miles in the National Bike Challenge.  We continue to be the #1 participating bike club in Connecticut.

In 2022 Simsbury riders logged 66,000 miles in the Simsbury Bike Challenge and 1000 bike trips for transportation in the Bike-to-it! Bike Month Pledge event.  In 2023, we're taking a break from promoting our local bike challenges.
