Across the U.S., interest in bicycling is skyrocketing, and it’s easy to see why. A bike is a ticket to health, mobility, freedom, and fun. Bicycling isn’t just a way to get from one place to another; it’s an avenue to a better life. And when communities get on board, great things happen. The value of the Bicycle Friendly Community designation has become clear to cities, towns, universities, businesses and families in Connecticut and across the country. Research and experience has confirmed that being bike friendly gives a community vibrancy that attracts young adults, drives economic development and tourism, protects home values, and enhances the quality of life.
